Protect

When you’ve poured love into your bouquet, here are some tips to keep them thriving...a little longer.

  • Feed your flowers: Mix 1 tsp sugar + 1 tsp vinegar + 2 cups water.

  • Trim the stems: Every 2-3 days, cut about ½ inch at an angle

  • Be a pollinator gal: Save seeds from spent blooms and plant them in a sunny spot.

Preserve

When your bouquet starts to fade, it’s not the end – it’s the beginning of something new!

  • Air-dry your favorites: Hang blooms upside down in a dry space for 1-2 weeks.

  • Make a memory: Press petals between heavy books for a bookmark or cards.

  • Make potpourri: Dry flowers, place in jar, add essential oils, sprinkle fixative (e.g., orris root powder), seal to allow scents to blend.

Prevent

Even scraps can serve a purpose. Let’s give them one.

  • Compost the rest: Floral trimmings can feed your soil for next season.

  • Store dried flowers right: Keep them in paper bags to avoid mold and fading.

  • Create home decor: Make a floral wreath or hanging basket for your home decor.
